The seasons are changing once again. The crispness of fall may not be quite here yet in Texas, but it is a little cooler, the lighting is different, and the energy is starting to become less frenetic. There is a tangible relief from all the busyness of summer that is beginning to foster an inward calmness. And at the same time an eager anticipation to find more balance as Nature draws her energy within. This reflective time is a great opportunity to take our meditation and yoga practice deeper, to let it be the guiding force toward greater balance and thus greater enjoyment of each and every moment. Being in tune with Nature’s rhythms helps us to realize we have an extra force to assist us in our quest for equanimity. Living more in that loving force of Aum, as the yogi’s call it, brings “the Comforter”.
In just a few weeks Nayaswami Hriman from Ananda Washington will be visiting, and will share with us all the ways the Christian understanding of “the Comforter” or Holy Ghost can be experienced in inner communion. Yogananda did extensive interpretations of Christ’s teachings as seen through a yogic lense. Nayaswami Hriman takes these interpretations, expands on them, and explains how the Christ Consciousness relates to each individual soul’s journey. For aspiring yogi’s with a western religious upbringing especially, these interpretations bring a clarity to the confusing and often muddy waters of Christ’s teachings through conventional Christianity.
It’s the perfect opportunity to prime the pump for the inward energy of fall leading into the blessings of the holiday season. We hope you will join us for this special weekend.
Together moving ever inward,
Ananda in Texas
