Every year at this time as the energy of the holiday season picks up, we come to an inflection point— a particular intensity associated with the spirit of the season, as we strive toward more openheartednes. In general, our lives are like individual centrifuges, the forces around us spin at certain velocities and we are either in the flow of those energies or we find all too often that there is some resistance. When we experience this, it is like a karmic meteor that threatens to send us into a different trajectory, It isn’t necessarily a “bad” thing, it is just what happens, especially at this time of year.
There is good news though! We aren’t just at the whims of these energies, we do have a choice. The yoga teachings offer us some tools. First, live closer to your center. At the center of a centrifuge those forces have little or no effect on you. We do this through our meditation practices where we dip into the stillness each day to steady our perspectives.
Second, by giving ourselves a firm foundation through the discipline of yoga and meditation, even if the outer forces are strongly pulling us out of our centers, we are still able to perceive the direction that will bring us back into harmony and resonance, finding balance once again.
What is that direction? It is the very same orientation that our hearts so long to take each Christmas, deeper into the Christ Consciousness. Metaphorically, it is our own inner star of the east. And where does that star guide us? To the cradle of acceptance that holds the precious Christ child of our deepest aspirations—those of love, joy, hope and ultimately unity.
So as we come to that seasonal inflection point of choice, let’s not forget the tools we have been given to help us experience the fullness of the season and restore our sense of balance and harmony during these challenging times both personally and globally. AnandaTexas offers many opportunities for you to get the support you need to help you dive deep into your center and follow the Star of the East to experience your most powerful Christmas ever.
Together in the Light of Christ,
