The true essence of yoga is all about the subtle energies that regulate our bodies and how with applied yoga techniques we can control these energies to uplift our consciousness and expand our awareness. Those subtle energies are regulated by our chakras as a flow of energy vibrating with qualities of consciousness that in turn affect our overall health and well being. In this class you will learn about the chakras and how you can effect the flow of energy for the revitalization of body, mind, and spirit through the applied use of Paramhansa Yogananda’s Energization exercise with a particular emphasis on the chakras involved in each exercise. No previous knowledge of Energization or the chakras is needed. If you are already familiar with either or both, this class will take you much deeper into your understanding of the energy body and enhance your Energization practice.
Mark Smithhisler has been practicing yoga and meditation since 1997. Along with teaching classes in Raja Yoga and being an Ananda Dallas Sunday Service leader, he also teaches meditation classes and the Energization Exercises. He particularly enjoys sharing how science and the ancient teachings of yoga relate to one another.
