Jan 5: Yogananda’s Birthday Celebration
Jan 12: Restorative Yoga
Jan 19: 3 hour Meditation
Jan 26: Kirtan

At Ananda, the Holy Season begins with Thanksgiving and culminates with Yogananda’s birthday on January 5th. On this powerful day, we celebrate the birth of this great avatar of our spiritual lineage by attuning ourselves to his vibration through meditation, chanting and prayer. It is yet another opportunity to let the Divine shower us in gifts of the Spirit, to renew ourselves in the powerful blessings of this special day. There is no better way to fire your spiritual aspirations for the new year than to gather with other like-minded souls. The evening will consist of chanting, meditation, flower ceremony, excerpts of Yogananda’s recorded voice and inspiring readings.

Do you need a little fun and upliftment? Fun Fridays are our opportunity to share the Light through a variety of community gatherings sponsored by our members. It will involve all the essential elements of fun for us as aspiring yogis: satsang and upliftment. (Oh, and we will throw in delicious food too! )It will be expressed in a variety of forms from kirtan, to movies, cooking, and other creative applications.

Swami Kriyananda once said

“The purpose of Ananda is to have fun, and what we mean by having fun is to be close to Divine Mother and share her Joy with everyone!”
