Join Asha Nayaswami and Keshava for an Ananda Sunday Service with our Ananda Austin Meditation group. Asha and Keshava will present a talk on the weekly reading as well as chant and meditate with us. They will also present the Festival of Light.
Afterwards we will go out to enjoy a delicious lunch with them.
An international speaker and author, Asha Nayaswami is a master teacher, considered by many to be one of the most nuanced and clear teachers of Yoga in the world today She has an unique ability to integrate spiritual teaching into daily, ordinary life, making spirituality practical and relatable.
Asha is a lifelong disciple of Paramhansa Yogananda, author of the spiritual classic, Autobiography of a Yogi. She studied and worked closely with his direct disciple, Swami Kriyananda for 45 years. She is a founding member of the spiritual community started by Swami Kriyananda in 1969 called Ananda Village, based on Yogananda’s dream of intentional spiritual communities for “simple living and high thinking.” She has served as one of the spiritual directors of another Ananda community, Ananda Palo Alto since 1987 and is also author of several books, Lightbearer, Swami Kriyananda As We Have Known Him, Loved and Protected: Stories of Miracles and Answered Prayers, and Ask Asha.
Asha means “hope” in Sanskrit. Her teachings are non-sectarian — sharing the truths that underlie the great religions. She draws freely from both the Bible and the Bhagavad Gita in her teaching.
Asha’s video talks on YouTube and audio recordings are a spiritual lifeline for people of all faiths around the world. Thousands of students have been immeasurably helped by her unusual insight and clarity.
Keshava Betts is a lifelong performing artist—cellist, vocal soloist, actor, and even briefly as a professional Hollywood stuntman.
