We often focus on the heart’s energy in common parlance. We say we are heavy hearted, heart broken, big hearted, lose heart, heart of gold, etc. The heart’s expressions and the heart’s feelings play a huge role in our human experience. From a yogic point of view it plays a critical role in our ability to evolve spiritually and deepen our spiritual lives. To be effective channels for God’s love into this world, to experience more and more superconscious states that allow us to feel that deep connection with the Divine, the natural love of the heart must not only be awakened but directed upward. So why aren’t we able to attain this with ease?
The great yogi master of our lineage, Sri Yukestwar addressed this in his seminal book “The Holy Science”. There he identified obstacles which he termed the eight meanesses of the heart. A new book has just been published about this subject by our dear friend Darshan Lotichius from Ananda Assisi. We are privileged to have him come and lead a workshop on Saturday, May 18, where we will explore how to overcome these meannesses and move forward in our spiritual lives. In these challenging times where we could all use a little “heartwarming” inspiration, it’s a workshop that will give you reason to “take heart” once again. We hope you will join us in this exploration.

Together in the heart,
